Sizzix (parent company: Ellison) supports customers to explore new creative styles and develop their crafting journey. With a wide range of die-cutting machines, dies, craft tools, and accessories, Sizzix offers a true one-stop shop for makers.

From March 2015 to August 2017, I worked at Ellison as the lead graphic designer. I created a wide range of print materials, including catalogues, brochures, adverts, packaging, point-of-sale, and store graphics.

I led the design of the Sizzix website, updating it to reflect seasonal trends and key trading periods such as Christmas and Easter, while aligning with product launches and project inspiration. I maintained the homepage, product pages, blog, and resource areas, created newsletters and social assets, and managed the design of the B2B Retailer website.

To keep the brand fresh and relevant, I continually refined its visual identity. I introduced new fonts and colours, created logos, and curated imagery.

I designed a wide range of seasonal and on-trend illustrative paper packs, allowing users to download and print papers for their own creations. I also developed paper packs for Sizzix Product Designers to feature in project makes, supporting die launches and seasonal events. To showcase these, I created landing pages that included the papers, project instructions, and tutorial videos.

In our in-house recording studio, I co-filmed these tutorial videos, managing the second camera to record close-up shots. I then edited and produced these fun, fast-paced videos for YouTube and the Sizzix website.

I also created inspirational videos highlighting seasonal and event-driven projects – encouraging customers to craft for weddings, baby showers, holidays, and more – while driving engagement with Sizzix products online.

During my time at Ellison, I helped launch a new brand, My Life Handmade, which was developed to embrace mindfulness, relaxation and creativity, offering contemporary stationery and products for the home.

I developed the logo and initial brand identity, ensuring it felt distinct from Sizzix while aligning with Ellison’s vision. I created an introductory brochure and website design, which established the foundation for the brand’s direction and customer experience.
